Inviting your team
How to invite teammates, the two roles available, and what changes when you cross the free-tier user limit.
Updated 29 Jun 2026
Clment is built around teams. The first thing most admins do after their own onboarding is bring colleagues in. This page covers the invite flow, role choices, and tier-related gotchas.
How to invite
- From the sidebar, open Settings → Team.
- Click + Invite member.
- Enter the email address and pick a role (see below).
- Click Send invitation.
The invitee receives an email with a magic-link button. Clicking it opens Clment with the invitation accepted automatically. If they don’t already have a Clment account, the same flow walks them through sign-up.
Invitations stay valid for 30 days. Expired invitations can be resent from the same Team page.
The two roles
- Admin — full access. Can manage users, edit playbooks, change billing, manage security settings, see the audit log. Every org needs at least one admin; the last admin can’t be downgraded or removed without first promoting someone else.
- Member — the standard role. Can upload contracts, run reviews, generate redlines, edit metadata, mention teammates. Can’t access billing or team management.
Roles are per-organisation. The same person can be Admin in one org and Member in another.
Free-tier user limit
The Free plan supports one user per organization — the original signup. Inviting a second member prompts an upgrade to Pro on the Team page. Paid plans include a user limit (Pro up to 5, Business up to 20, Enterprise unlimited) with no per-seat charge — billing is on credit consumption, not headcount.
If you’re testing Clment with a colleague and don’t want to upgrade yet:
- They can sign up for their own free organization separately.
- You can both work in your own orgs and compare notes — but contracts and reviews don’t cross orgs.
Removing users
Settings → Team → ⋯ menu on a user row → Remove from organisation. Removed users:
- Lose immediate access to the org. Their session is terminated within about a minute.
- Stay in the activity log (audit trail isn’t deleted — they’re shown as
<email> (removed)). - Their AI-review attributions don’t change historically — a review signed off by them still shows their name on the record.
Removing a user does not automatically revoke any MCP or API tokens they issued. They lose sign-in access to the org immediately, but a machine token they minted stays valid until it’s revoked — so if a departing user had connectors set up, revoke their tokens explicitly.
Inviting someone who’s already on Clment
If the invitee already has a Clment account, the magic-link email takes them straight into the new org. They can then switch between their orgs from the org picker.
Bulk inviting
To invite a whole team at once, Settings → Team → Bulk invite opens a CSV upload dialog (one row per person, email, role). Up to 200 invitations per upload, with a live preview before submit. See Inviting users and roles for the format details.
